Graphic design of noise barriers and visual screens
As we consider the motorway route consisting of the D2 motorway and the newly built D1 section (Slovakia-Breclav-Brno-Ostrava-Poland) to be the most important in Moravia, we have decided to name it Via Moravica. We not only used this mark in a comprehensive promotional campaign implemented during the construction of the motorway, we also applied it to noise barriers in the newly built sections. We also designed a colour scheme for the aluminium noise barriers, complemented by a red line, which emphasises the generosity and elegance of these important transport structures.
The safe movement of large mammals travelling across the motorway route can be helped not only by ecoducts, but also by migration corridors – strips of land planted with greenery that run under bridges on the motorway.
In order to prevent the lovely animals from being dazzled by passing cars, it was necessary to make the noise barriers non-transparent to a certain height. And why not add the silhouettes of a bear, a lynx, a moose and a wolf, for which the corridor between Hostýn and the Odra Highlands was built?
